GaryElvis has loved to sing all of his life. From the time he was a small boy his mother loved to hear him sing. He loved his mother so very much, and she would tell him, "You sound so much like Elvis." His only regret is that she never heard him pay the "Tribute to Elvis" that he now does. She went home to be with the Lord on December 5, 1995.
He started singing Elvis music professionally five years ago when he performed for three hours with only his guitar and microphone at the Brick Oven Pizza Ski Resort Restaurant in Crested Butte, CO.
GaryElvis graduated from the University of Alabama, where he played football under the legendary coaching of Paul "Bear" Bryant. This was one of the highlights of his life. He was honored to be on teams that won four Southeastern Conferences and one National Championship. He now wears his rings proudly.
GaryElvis and his wife, Christine, reside in Plant City, Florida. Christine is his most ardent fan and encourager. They have a small farm with goats, chickens, cats, dogs and rabbits. The only thing that GaryElvis has problems with is the constant rooster crowing at all times of the day and night!
During the last five years, GaryElvis has had the honor to win the "Spirit of Elvis" award in two countries and four states. He also competes regularly in some of the most competitive Elvis Tribute contests in the U.S. and Canada, where he has won and placed highly in a great many. One of the most meaningful awards was presented to GaryElvis on March 7, 2003, just 10 days before the Iraqi war began. He was presented with a Four Star General's Medal Coin (very rare) by General Charles R. Holland for performing at MacDill Air Force base in Tampa for the outgoing Officers.
His goal is to continue to reach as many people as he can to keep Elvis' music and memory alive. GaryElvis is not an Elvis impersonator. There was only one Elvis. GaryElvis wants to bring honor to Elvis and keep his music alive. His reward is to bring a little warmth, love and sunshine into the lives of the people to whom he has the honor to sing. His "Love Me Tender Day" charity project is touching many lives in memory of Elvis Aaron Presley.
GaryElvis has a strong faith in God and always includes many gospel favorites in his programs. He would like to leave you with one of his favorite Bible verses from the New Testament...Ephesians 5:20, which reads..."Giving Thanks Always for all things..."
